SAP Master Data and Migration Lead (17682)

Baer is looking for SAP Master Data and Migration Lead for a 6+ month remote project.

Title: SAPMaster Data and Migration Lead

Location: Remote (with travel to client sites as required, Atlanta, GA)

Duration: 6 months

Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed

Alignment: W2 or C2C

Overview

The Master Data and Migration Lead will own data readiness for the SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) program, ensuring master data is accurate, complete, and ready for planning. This role leads data profiling, cleansing, migration, reconciliation, and governance while working closely with business and technical teams to ensure a successful go-live.

Description:

  • Define the master data strategy, including required data objects, ownership, and systems of record.
  • Lead data profiling and quality assessments across source systems and identify data gaps and remediation needs.
  • Establish data standards, validation rules, quality thresholds, and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and manage the data cleansing and remediation plan with business data owners.
  • Design and execute migration activities for historical sales, open orders, inventory, and planning-related master data.
  • Develop data reconciliation processes to validate data completeness and accuracy between source and target systems.
  • Plan and lead mock data loads, migration rehearsals, and cutover data activities.
  • Establish a sustainable master data governance model covering ownership, maintenance, approvals, and monitoring.
  • Define and track data readiness KPIs and provide regular status reporting to program leadership.
  • Partner with integration teams on data transformation, mapping, and validation rules.
  • Work with functional consultants to ensure master data supports the required planning processes and business outcomes.
  • Own data readiness as a key go-live criterion and provide evidence for cutover and go/no-go decisions.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise data migration and master data management, preferably within SAP programs.
  • Experience owning the data workstream for at least one full-lifecycle SAP planning or supply chain implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP supply chain master data, including materials, customers, vendors, BOMs, routings, and sources of supply.
  • Hands‑on experience with data profiling, cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with ETL or data migration tools.
  • Experience with SAP migration tools such as Migration Cockpit, LSMW, LTMC, or equivalent platforms.
  • Proven ability to work with business data owners and drive data quality and remediation activities.
