Job description

The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality processes during manufacturing. This role organizes all aspects of the quality control process, executes testing plans and assists in defining testing strategies in conjunction with the FSQA Manager. The FSQA Supervisor is responsible for verifying that the product being released complies with regulatory, company and customer standards. This individual will lead, coach and mentor FSQA team members and identify and suggest process improvements. The FSQA Supervisor is expected to drive and participate in continuous process improvement throughout the facility and across all disciplines. This position will accept other duties as assigned and reports to the FSQA Manager.
Job Duties:
  • Enforce formal QC processes and ensure adherence to company standards.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor QC team members; resolve conflicts and maintain team motivation.
  • Ensure proper training and development plans for QC staff; conduct annual performance assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and assist in policy development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve issues and implement feedback from management.
  • Apply testing standards and plans to meet deadlines and evaluate team performance.
  • Conduct QA testing as needed and document results to support production trials.
  • Review quality records and manufacturing documentation for compliance and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs related to quality control and food safety programs.
  • Manage quality support programs such as:
    • Non-Conforming Product program,
    • Customer Complaints, including investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation & verification.
    • 3rd Party testing
    • Customer required sampling & testing programs
    • Foster a respectful and professional work environment, ensuring all team interactions reflect company values and support a positive workplace culture.
    • Model respectful communication, professionalism, and integrity in all interactions, and encourage the same from team members to maintain a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or related field.
  • Supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing consumer packaged goods, or food environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability & commitment to fostering a respectful, professional, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ability to model and promote team values such as integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
  • PCQI/HACCP certification preferred.
  • Exceptional listening and analytical skills.
