Job description

Counseling facilitators for Arizona Behavioral Counseling are responsible for conducting screenings, individual and/or group counseling sessions, and education classes, for clients enrolled in programs offered by Arizona Behavioral Counseling.

Counseling facilitators for treatment programs are required to complete intake sessions, write individual treatment plans, document all client contact, monitor, and evaluate client progress and write progress reports and discharge summaries.

Counseling facilitators will conduct these responsibilities under the direction of the quality assurance team, a clinical supervisor, and the Director.

Qualifications. A Counseling facilitator:

1. Is at least 21 years of age.

2. Holds a CPR card and First Aid card no older than 2 years. As an employee of ABC you are required to

maintain certification of both CPR and First Aid throughout employment.

3. Holds a License from the AZ Board of Behavioral Health; or have a Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree,

or Associate’s degree, either of which are in a behavioral health field. Or, have a High School degree /

equivalent degree with course work in behavioral health experience classes with at least 2 years of

behavioral health experience.

4. Has the skills and knowledge necessary to screen or counsel clients with issues including substance

abuse, anger and/or domestic violence.

5. Completes 20 hours of training, 8 hours which are domestic violence-related, for the calendar year. It is

the employee’s responsibility to maintain current on annual trainings.

6. Has training in DUI laws and DUI treatment standards and chemical dependency. Provisional

requirement: if you are providing DV services you must have 6-month prior experience working with

offenders.
