Job description

Braun Intertec is seeking experienced Transportation Technicians to join our Rochester, MN team. Braun Intertec provides construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients. We are looking for individuals who are interested in joining a dynamic team and furthering their career in the field of construction inspection and materials testing. This individual should have strong initiative, and able to perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field in order to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. This is a career opportunity to become a member of a highly successful, fast paced team with a steady and growing backlog of large projects.

Duties

  • Perform soil, aggregate, concrete and bituminous testing and observations on transportation construction projects
  • Perform bituminous and concrete plant monitoring services
  • Prepare daily reports on observation activities
  • Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness
  • Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed

Required Skills

  • A valid driver's license and a good driving history required
  • Excellent plan reading skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Understanding and experience with performing MnDOT testing and inspections
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • iPad experience a plus
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

Required Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One or more (1+) years of construction materials testing and observation experience
  • State DOT certifications: MnDOT Aggregate Production, MnDOT Grading and Base Tester, MnDOT Bituminous/Concrete Plant Monitor

Any of the Following Certifications are a Plus

  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
  • ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector
  • ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector
  • ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector
  • NICET Certifications
  • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety
