ABOUT THE ROLE
Instructors are directly responsible for the performance, supervision, and safety of all youth assigned to their team. Instructors are expected to lead by example, actively engaging with all youth on a day to day basis. You will ensure that each youth receives your full attention thus developing strong relationships while also maintaing professional boundaries. This will be accomplished by the highest staff ratios in the industry. Velocity runs a 1:2 ratio day/evening and 1:3 on overnights.
Our formula for success is 36/56/76. There are 168 hours in a week. 36 hours is for work. You will work four (4) nine (9) hour shifts per week. 56 hours is for sleep. If you sleep 8 hours a night, that is 56 hours. 76 hours is for you and your family. We believe in maximizing staff wellness and professional development. In this role you will also receive over 250 hours of paid professional development annually. Put simply, you will not find a youth care worker role anywhere in the country that combines our compensation, professional development, and staff ratios.
