What are MARPOL officers and what do they do?

MARPOL officers are maritime professionals responsible for ensuring that ships comply with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL). Their duties include monitoring shipboard operations to prevent pollution, conducting inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring that waste and pollutants are handled and disposed of according to regulations.
