This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
HarbourVest is searching for an Adobe Technical Lead to join our team! This role is responsible for crafting, developing, and maintaining Adobe solutions to support modern, secure, and high-performing digital experiences. A successful applicant has strong Java development expertise and experience in Agile environments. They can lead technical initiatives, resolve sophisticated issues, and uphold architectural and regulatory standards. This individual will also offer strategic mentorship on website modernization efforts while collaborating across teams to drive scalable and reliable platform solutions.
The ideal candidate is someone who has:
  • Proven practical experience with Adobe Experience Manager or similar tools
  • Platform familiarity: Apache, application logs, web infrastructure
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • Superb communication and executive presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to influence, negotiate, and drive alignment across diverse teams
  • A proactive approach with strong ownership and accountability

Proficiency in:
  • Back-end: Java / J2EE
  • Front-end: JavaScript, CSS, jQuery
  • Integration: RESTful web services
What you will do:
  • Development of AEM components, templates, workflows, publishing, configurations & customizations
  • Ensure alignment with security, privacy, and governing regulations pertinent to financial services websites, including WCAG compliance for ADA
  • Regularly evaluate website health, including environment strategy, and platform security
  • Ensure technical issues are quickly resolved and implement strategies and solutions to help reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced Agile Scrum Delivery Team environment
  • Conduct technical reviews, support release management, mentor team members, and ensure alignment to architectural guardrails
  • Produce high-quality documentation (architecture diagrams, ERDs, integration flows)
  • Provide thought leadership on website modernization initiatives and future-state capabilities

Required Experience & Skills
  • Proven track record using Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Hands on experience building AEM components and working with JCR, Figma, and AEM workflows
  • Experience with Java, JavaScript, J2EE, CSS and related technologies
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the following: Apache, App server logs, RESTful web services and jQuery
Preferred Qualifications
  • Front-end development coding experience using HTML, CSS or JS a plus
  • Experience with front end frameworks such as Angular, React, and Bootstrap.
  • Experience in integration of AEM with other Adobe products such as Marketo, Target, AEP, CJA or RTCDP
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Edge Network and WebSDK tags a plus
  • Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
Education Preferred
  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or equivalent experience
Experience
  • 5+ years of website development experience as Front-end or Back-end developer

Base Salary Range:
$160,000.00 - $170,000.00
This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
