Job description

Emerald is seeking a highly motivated, globally minded International Customer Success & Commercial Associate to join Emerald's Pan-International team supporting more than 20 market-leading brands across retail, design, industrial, manufacturing, gift, cannabis, luxury, and emerging growth sectors.
This role is part of Emerald's Rotational Associate Development Program, designed to identify and develop future talent within the organization. The program is ideal for a recent college graduate or early-career professional eager to build hands-on experience across multiple business disciplines while developing a strong foundation in customer success, sales, marketing, operations, and international business strategy.
The International Customer Success & Commercial Associate will begin with a strong Customer Success Management (CSM) focus, serving as a key support partner for Emerald's growing international exhibitor base particularly new exhibitors entering the U.S. market for the first time. This role will help guide customers through the full exhibitor journey, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience and helping international customers maximize their success across Emerald's portfolio of events.
In addition to customer success responsibilities, the associate will rotate quarterly through Emerald's Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Buyer/Attendee Acquisition divisions as they relate to the international business. This rotational structure is intended to provide broad exposure to the live events industry while helping develop future leaders with a deep understanding of Emerald's customer journey and integrated commercial ecosystem.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, customer-focused, culturally aware, and eager to learn. Given the importance of supporting Emerald's Korean customer and partner community, fluency in both English and Korean - verbal and written - is required.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Success & International Exhibitor Support
  • Serve as a primary support contact for international exhibitors across Emerald's portfolio of brands.
  • Help onboard new international exhibitors, ensuring customers understand event timelines, logistics, marketing opportunities, and exhibitor tools.
  • Guide exhibitors through the customer journey from contract through onsite execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Support international exhibitors in maximizing ROI through participation opportunities, sponsorship visibility, buyer engagement, matchmaking programs, and digital tools.
  • Assist customers with exhibitor portals, operational requirements, shipping timelines, visa documentation, payments, and onsite preparation.
  • Act as a liaison between international customers and Emerald's Sales, Operations, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to help reduce friction and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail in customer communications, Salesforce updates, onboarding tracking, and exhibitor fulfillment.
  • Help support international pavilions, association relationships, and strategic global partnerships.
  • Collect and manage exhibitor assets including company descriptions, marketing materials, digital listings, and sponsorship deliverables.

Rotational Associate Development Program
As part of Emerald's Rotational Associate Program, this role will rotate quarterly through multiple functional areas supporting the international business, including:
Sales
  • Lead generation and prospecting support
  • International pavilion coordination
  • Pipeline management and reporting
  • Association and partner outreach
  • Customer relationship development

  • Onsite exhibitor experience
  • Fulfillment and process management

Marketing

  • Digital content and asset management
  • Social and email campaign support

Buyer & Attendee Acquisition
  • International buyer outreach
  • Hosted buyer program support
  • Matchmaking coordination
  • Audience development initiatives
  • Association engagement programs

This rotational experience is designed to create well-rounded commercial talent with exposure to the full lifecycle of Emerald's global events business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or recent college graduate strongly preferred.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Korean with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong interest in international business, live events, customer success, sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across cultures and global business environments.
  • Highly organized with strong project management and multitasking capabilities.
  • Customer-first mindset with strong attention to detail and proactive follow-through.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally across multiple teams and departments.
  • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, A2Z or CRM systems is a plus.
  • Internship or prior experience in events, hospitality, marketing, customer service, international business, or sales support preferred but not required.
