Marketing Frontend Developer information

What is a marketing frontend developer?

A Marketing Frontend Developer is a web developer who specializes in building and maintaining user-facing features of marketing websites, landing pages, and digital campaigns. They use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Vue to create visually appealing, responsive, and high-converting interfaces. Their work helps marketing teams execute promotions, track analytics, and improve user engagement. They often collaborate closely with designers, content creators, and digital marketers to ensure that the technical implementation supports marketing goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a marketing frontend developer?

To thrive as a Marketing Frontend Developer, you need strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a solid understanding of digital marketing principles, often backed by relevant degrees or certifications. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React), and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is typically required. Creativity, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating with marketing teams and translating business goals into engaging user experiences. These skills ensure that digital marketing campaigns are both visually compelling and technically robust, driving user engagement and achieving business objectives.

How does a marketing frontend developer typically collaborate with marketing and design teams?

Marketing Frontend Developers work closely with both marketing and design teams to translate campaign requirements and creative ideas into engaging, functional web experiences. Regular collaboration involves attending planning meetings, reviewing design mockups, and providing technical feedback to ensure feasibility and performance. Developers often iterate quickly on landing pages, promotional microsites, and interactive elements, responding to feedback from marketers and designers to optimize for both user experience and conversion goals. Effective communication and adaptability are key to balancing creative vision with technical constraints.

Job description

About Us

Cimento AI is revolutionizing cybersecurity training by using AI to build resilient, security-conscious teams. We're backed by operators and angels from Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Okta, etc.

We value creative spark over credentials and high agency over process. If your portfolio tells a story about how you think, we want to talk.

About The Role

As our founding designer, you'll drive design across the full Cimento product. You'll own work from concept to delivery, build our design system, and collaborate directly with engineering to ship polished, intuitive experiences.

This is the first dedicated design hire, a senior, high-ownership role for someone with exceptional taste who moves between strategy and execution without waiting for permission, and uses AI to work at a pace that shouldn't be possible for a team of one.

What You'll Do
  • Own end-to-end product design, from discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity UI and shipped screens

  • Design how security teams configure campaigns, launch phishing simulations, monitor results, and act on employee risk scores

  • Build a design system (components, patterns, tokens) that scales with the team and product

  • Partner with customers to validate designs early and fold feedback into rapid iteration

  • Shape Cimento's visual identity and brand across product, marketing, and sales

  • Use AI design and prototyping tools to compress timelines and expand your range

What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time at startups where you owned the full design surface

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong UI craft, clear UX thinking, and a feel for making data-heavy products simple

  • A track record of influencing product decisions and shipping. Not just designing, but getting work into users' hands and iterating on what you learn

  • Ability to design complete workflows, including permissions, edge cases, errors, and operational states

  • Comfort working closely with engineers and understanding frontend constraints

  • Excellent communication skills and a bias toward transparency

  • Genuine passion for building and comfort with ambiguity

Bonus Points
  • Experience in cybersecurity, enterprise security, or compliance software

  • Hands-on experience prototyping with AI tools (Claude Design, Figma AI, or similar)

What We Offer
  • Meaningful equity as an early team member

  • Competitive salary

  • Direct impact on product, customers, and company direction

  • A small team where your work is visible and valued
