Job Description:
DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
We are Market Risk. While we don't actually predict the future, we do like to think we get pretty close.
The Market Risk team's role is to identify, measure, communicate and make decisions on enterprise-wide market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty credit risk, as well as collateral management activities in support of the Risk Appetite at TD. We have a global presence with teams in Toronto, Calgary, New York, Singapore, Dublin and London. TD recognizes that a strong risk culture and equable approach to risk management is fundamental to our success.
JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Program
The Market Risk Rotational Program is an immersive 24-month program designed to help you step into the world of risk management. On top of developing your leadership skills, the goal of the program is to help strengthen your thought process and proactive thinking to better understand, administer and deliver best practices to achieve the highest level of risk management.
If you're a natural problem solver, love numbers and have a keen interest in finance/capital markets, we want you to be part of our rotational program.
In this program you'll complete four customized, six-month rotations across Market Risk where you may learn about:
- Trading Market Risk
- Non-Trading Market Risk
- Liquidity Risk
- Counterparty Credit Risk and Collateral Management
- Capital Risk
We align rotation opportunities with our business strategies to ensure you work on the most important priorities.
What You'll Do
No matter where you work at TD, you'll make a meaningful impact, grow your skills and thrive in our culture of care. Here's what that means for each rotation in this program:
Make an Impact
- Measure, interpret and monitor risk metrics to assess risk exposures, providing insights that support risk management and interaction with the first line of defense
- Enforce risk governance standards through the identification, assessment, escalation, and remediation of control exceptions, ensuring adherence to risk policies and a robust control environment.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of risk exposures, portfolio dynamics, and market developments, providing actionable insights and recommendations that support effective risk oversight and informed decision-making
- Proactively manage operational risk through the execution of key controls, timely identification and escalation of issues, and analytical assessment of emerging risks and control weaknesses
- Apply AI, automation, and data-driven innovation to solve complex risk management challenges, enhance analytical capabilities, and deliver optimal, efficient, and sustainable solutions across the organization
Experience Growth
- Work alongside a high-performing team of risk professionals to broaden and deepen your understanding of risk disciplines
- Collaborate and communicate with the team to meet deliverables and deadlines
- Receive one-on-one coaching and mentorship from business leaders throughout your two-year program
Cultivate Our Culture of Care
- Connect with senior management and gain experience from experts at the top of their game
- Interact with other Associates to share learnings and network within the organization
COLLEAGUE DEVELOPMENT
If you're interested in a specific career path or are looking to build certain skills, we want to help you succeed. Receive regular career, development and performance conversations with your manager, as well as access to an online learning platform and a variety of mentoring programs to help you unlock future opportunities.
