Job description

Manage and optimize the marine insurance and risk management programme for the managed cruise, expedition and yacht fleet, ensuring effective risk transfer, protection of company and owner assets, passenger and crew liabilities, contractual exposures and business continuity through strategic insurance placement, claims management, loss prevention and stakeholder engagement.
Roles and Responsibilities
Claims Handling
  • Lead all passenger, crew, hull, environmental and third-party claims; coordinate with P&I Clubs, insurers, brokers, legal counsel, surveyors and adjusters; manage reserves, settlements, recoveries and lessons learned.

Insurance and Risk Management
  • Manage P&I, H&M, War Risks, Loss of Hire, Cyber, Pollution, Employers Liability and Newbuilding cover; lead renewals, negotiations and risk assessments. Develop loss prevention initiatives, support risk reviews for itineraries, shore excursions, expedition and polar operations.

Compliance & Contracts
  • Review contracts, indemnities and insurance clauses; ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.

Stakeholder Management
  • Advise owners, management and Marine Operations departments on insurance and risk matters.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Maintain claims records, insurance registers, management reports, trend analysis and renewal submissions.

Requirements
Knowledge & Experience
  • Degree in Maritime Studies, Insurance, Law, or related discipline
  • 5-10 years' experience in marine insurance (cruise, passenger vessels, or P&I preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of P&I, H&M, and passenger/crew claims
  • Experience in claims handling and insurance programme management
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
