Job description

Marine Electrician
Automation Blue Marine Staffing is seeking a Marine Electrician for a company based in St. Rose LA
 
In this role you will install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems on vessels, barges, and marine equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working in marine environments, and the ability to respond to customer service needs safely and efficiently. This position may require travel to customer sites, vessels, and shipyards throughout the Gulf Coast region.

Compensation
$25-$40 per hour
 
Schedule and Hours
Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:30am
 
Marine Electrician Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair marine electrical systems and equipment. 
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC/DC electrical circuits. 
  • Test and repair motors, generators, control panels, switchboards, and power distribution systems. 
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. 
  • Perform troubleshooting on motor starters, control circuits, emergency systems, and alarm systems. 
  • Use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, amp meters, and meggers. 
  • Install and terminate electrical wiring, conduit, and cable assemblies. 
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on vessel electrical systems. 
  • Complete service reports and job documentation accurately and timely. 
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable marine regulations. 
 
Marine Electrician Qualifications and Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Marine electrical experience preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques. 
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical manuals. 
  • Experience using electrical diagnostic and testing equipment. 
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. 
  • Ability to travel and work aboard vessels, barges, and in shipyard environments. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
