What You'll Do:
Know Business Demands. Become thoroughly familiar with the day's business demands by reviewing previous scheduled arrival and departures at varying docks/ports.
Direct Loading and Delivery. Direct tugs and barges to various quarries for loading and sales yards for delivery and unloading.
Report Issues. Immediately report any delivery problems to supervisors and managers for quick resolution or mitigation.
Receive Internal Orders. Receive internal orders, primarily by telephone and internal spreadsheets, regarding requested delivery of product and arrival window, based on inventory and sales demand
Receive External Orders. Receive external orders, primarily by email or telephone, regarding projects booked by sales and long-term delivery schedules.
Determine Schedules. Tactfully balance cost-effective delivery times and rates for Company with demands. Make a schedule for tugs and barges for the next business day/week in correspondence with order requirements.
Complete Daily Reports. Complete reports daily on sales, product allowances and adjustments, delivery problems, and other matters.
Work Rotating Schedule. During training, this position will work Monday-Friday. Once fully trained, the employee will work a rotating schedule of three 12 hour days, including the weekends.

Responsibilities
Skills You'll Need:
Interpersonal Skills. Must have the ability to maintain satisfactory customer relations. Must be able to work independently and make decisions while providing excellent customer service by phone and electronically. Must be able to communicate effectively with both customers and employees.
Time Management Skills. Must have the ability to plan ahead to effect timely product delivery according to schedule, work at a fast pace, and prioritize work. Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and work well under pressure.
Product Knowledge. Must have knowledge of aggregate materials and maritime law. Must also know transportation requirements and regulations.
Technology Skills. Must be skilled in using computers to record information and create reports.
Scheduling Skills. Must be able to schedule and organize large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly.
Education. High School or equivalent.
Experience. Two to four years experience that has included dispatching, customer relations, and construction/transportation; administrative or sales experience is required. Telephone, keyboard, computer and 10-key operator experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong understanding of maritime regulations and procedures
• Ability to maintain satisfactory customer relations and possess good math skills.
• Ability to plan ahead to effect timely product delivery according to schedule; work at fast pace and prioritize work; and communicate effectively with customers as well as boat captains.
• Knowledge of construction materials, tug boats and maritime requirements and regulations.
• Skilled in using computers to record information and create reports; scheduling and organizing large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly; reading maps.
• Must be able to work independently and make decisions while providing excellent customer service by phone and in person.
• Ability to memorize and recall detailed information; communicate effectively with customers as well as boat captains; work independently and make decisions; and handle multiple tasks concurrently; and work well under pressure.
Other Requirements
• Will be required to wear protective gear when working in the field, including gear to protect against exposure to noise, dust and hazardous materials.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Position involves extended use of computer during the workday.
• Occasionally, must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.

Hourly Range: the hourly range for this role is between $27.09 - $30.67. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate's compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
