Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead large-scale multi-discipline civil site design and construction activities across various industries
  • Oversee the completion of technical engineering activities from strategic planning through project closure
  • Preparation of feasibility studies and technical design reports, including engineering cost estimating
  • Understand and interpret design and construction specifications
  • Oversee the preparation of construction drawings for projects including site grading, paving, and utilities, including storm water systems, wastewater collection, and water distribution systems
  • Engage and collaborate with the diverse technical service areas across Foth to provide unique engineering solutions
  • Participate in regular and impromptu client meetings serving as a trusted and reliable partner
  • Delegate tasks to a multi-disciplined team of technicians, engineers, and scientists
  • Mentor and coach team members of various experience levels
  • Lead subcontractors for design and construction activities that Foth chooses not to self-perform
  • Perform in tasks such as: field activities, CAD work, permit applications, report writing, technical reports, feasibility studies, and engineering designs
  • Prepare and collaborate on design drawings using CAD principles
  • Lead and/or support the development of design standards and best practice
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with hands-on engineering consisting of design, permitting and feasibility studies for civil site design projects that include public/private utilities, stormwater, roadways, and grading
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience partnering with clients as an engineering consultant
  • 10+ years of experience planning, designing, and constructing civil site design projects
  • Experience with large-scale site design of industrial, manufacturing, and/or production facilities
  • Prior experience serving as technical lead/designer on a variety of waterfront and coastal engineering-related projects
  • Experience performing coastal conditions calculations and structural analyses to develop/review design drawings for various types of marine infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading planning, engineering, construction, and rehabilitation of various coastal shoreline protection and stabilization projects, along with marine/waterfront structures
  • Prior experience navigating existing and proposed regulations related to marine infrastructure and coastal engineering
