Job description

Reports to: Regional Vice President
The Marina General Manager handles all aspects of marina operations within budgetary guidelines in an efficient, cost-effective, and creative manner. The Marina General Manager works collaboratively with Regional and Executive Team members as well other colleagues throughout the organization.
The Marina General Manager provides the highest level of customer service in a friendly, helpful manner while accurately responding to the customers� needs. He or she will project a professional company image through all types of interactions. This is a fast-paced environment, and the Marina General Manager must be able to work under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Achieve financial results according to the property's annual operating and capital budgets
  2. Some experience with monitoring monthly P&L preferred
  3. Know and understand all the marina's computer systems and software (can train)
  4. Work with marketing and provide information to sell services
  5. Monitor service demand and tech productivity
  6. Achieve occupancy goals for slips and storage
  7. Supervise the security and safety of the marina grounds and buildings
  8. Set a standard of excellence in service and professionalism
  9. Understand and comply with government agencies including, but not limited to
    • OSHA
    • EPA
    • Army Corp of Engineers
    • TSSA
    • ABYC
  10. Maintain a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers
  11. Lead weekly management meetings with all department Supervisors / Managers
  12. Create KPI's to measure process efficacy
  13. Respond to and resolve customer disputes consistent with company philosophy
  14. Coordinate with other management personnel to ensure the efficient running of all departments
  15. Oversee and approve implementation and maintenance programs
  16. Manage property response to weather emergency events that may cause damage
  17. Create SOP's and hold team members accountable to those standards
  18. Manage employee schedules by reviewing and approving timesheets as needed
  19. Perform such duties as assigned by Regional and Executive leadership

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  1. Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
  2. Five (5) years or more previous management and leadership experience, preferably in marina setting
  3. Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
  4. Understand financial statements and the budgeting processes (preferred but not required)
  5. Marina service background or experience is a requirement
  6. Understand how to evaluate and address underperforming financial areas revealed in the monthly P&L (preferred but not required)
  7. Knowledge of general boat handling and operations
  8. Adaptable to a variety of different tasks
  9. Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
  10. Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
  11. Strong ability to develop partnerships with internal clients/others
  12. Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
  13. Strong work ethic and personal commitment
  14. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
  15. Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
  16. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
  17. Adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  18. Good presentation, facilitation, and computer skills
  19. Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook email, Word, and Excel
  20. Must be willing to work weekends if needed
