As Global Technical Engineering Lead, you will delight our Life Sciences client through the strategic and operational delivery of JLL's Facilities Management services across a dynamic Americas real estate portfolio. You will be responsible for providing transformational leadership that fosters an ownership-mindset culture while developing and empowering our people to deliver outstanding services aligned with our client's desired outcomes. With your extensive facilities management expertise and business acumen, you will drive operational excellence, manage substantial budgets, and serve as a trusted advisor to our client stakeholders.

A strategic, mission-critical role responsible for ensuring the operational excellence and regulatory compliance of a large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing facility's building infrastructure. This position directly impacts the production of life-saving medications and medical devices by maintaining critical building systems, cleanroom environments, and controlled atmospheres that meet stringent FDA, EMA, and HPRA standards. As a key leader within JLL Life Sciences' operations team, you will drive facility uptime, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize maintenance operations for one of Ireland's premier pharmaceutical manufacturing sites.

  • Lead comprehensive hard services programs for pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, including HVAC systems, cleanroom environments, controlled atmospheres, and critical utility systems to ensure 99.9%+ uptime for production operations

  • Develop, implement, and continuously optimize preventive maintenance strategies using risk-based methodologies, ensuring all building systems support GMP/GDP compliance and minimize unplanned downtime that could impact drug production

  • Manage emergency response protocols for critical building system failures, coordinating rapid resolution of issues affecting cleanroom classifications, environmental controls, and manufacturing-critical infrastructure with minimal production impact

  • Oversee vendor management and contractor coordination for specialized pharmaceutical facility services, including qualification of suppliers, performance monitoring, and ensuring all external maintenance activities meet life sciences regulatory requirements

  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory compliance standards (FDA, EMA, HPRA) through meticulous documentation, validation of building system performance, and maintenance of qualification status for all facility infrastructure supporting drug manufacturing

  • Lead annual budget planning and cost optimization initiatives for building maintenance operations, developing strategic spending plans that balance regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and capital expenditure requirements while achieving cost targets

  • Champion health & safety excellence by conducting comprehensive risk assessments, implementing safety protocols for maintenance activities in pharmaceutical environments, and ensuring team compliance with both JLL and client safety standards

  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting systems including maintenance records, compliance audits, system performance metrics, and regulatory inspection readiness documentation to support FDA/EMA inspections and internal quality reviews

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs teams to align building maintenance activities with manufacturing schedules and regulatory requirements

  • Lead and develop a high-performing maintenance team through coaching, training, and performance management while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory excellence

  • Manage capital improvement projects for building infrastructure upgrades, ensuring projects meet pharmaceutical design standards, regulatory requirements, and are delivered on time and within budget

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Portfolio leadership and service delivery. You'll drive strategic and tactical excellence as the senior leader responsible for the delivery, client satisfaction and transformational initiatives within our Americas facilities management portfolio. Each day brings opportunities to analyze portfolio-wide performance data, identify optimization opportunities, and present strategies that leverage industry trends and data-driven insights to enhance client's experience.
  • Financial stewardship and performance management. You'll oversee comprehensive financial planning including operational budgeting and forecasting. Your focus on cost optimization and variance analysis ensures performance within approved budgets and CPI tolerances while delivering measurable value through annual savings targets and transparent financial reporting.
  • Client partnership and relationship building. You'll establish and maintain strong relationships at all organizational levels, serving as the primary point of escalation for complex operational challenges. Through regular governance business reviews and strategic planning sessions, you'll present portfolio analytics, benchmarking insights, and recommendations that reinforce JLL's position as strategic partner of choice.
  • Team development and cultural transformation. You'll invest in people care by creating development and succession plans that strengthen our talent pipeline and promote our "Destination Account" vision. Your leadership fosters a culture of excellence, ownership, and empowerment while leading change initiatives that embed best practices through standardized, programmatic approaches across the portfolio. You'll implement portfolio transformation programs that equip our people with the training and resources needed for success.
  • Integration and collaboration. You'll ensure seamless integration across all JLL services, coordinating internally to deliver a unified OneJLL approach for our client. You'll lead the One Team collaboration program that includes our client's Workplace teams and Landlords, working together in a client-centric manner to achieve combined success. You'll build and maintain relationships with key vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and ensuring quality service delivery that meets client expectations. Your collaborative mindset identifies issues early and engages leadership to support timely resolution.
  • Operational excellence and compliance. You'll establish enterprise-wide standards and QA/QC processes that enable consistent delivery, scalability, and continuous improvement. Regular site visits allow you to conduct assessments, engage directly with facility operations, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
  • Performance achievement. You'll drive achievement of contractual requirements and account goals, including work order management metrics and CPI/KPI targets, while maintaining high client satisfaction measured through performance indicators and satisfaction surveys.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of strategic and tactical IFM multi-regional portfolio experience for financial services or technology-focused clients, including advanced knowledge of CRE facility management methodologies, building systems, maintenance processes, and regulatory requirements
  • Proven Life Sciences experience with GxP and/or other regulated environment experience.
  • Demonstrated transformational leadership success in establishing standardized processes, resource alignment and governance frameworks to ensure the delivery of operational excellence in a standardized, consistent and timely manner across portfolio operations for client and team success
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent; creating development plans and fostering an inspiring, empowering culture
  • Executive presence with exceptional communication skills and ability to build trust-based relationships across all stakeholder levels; proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide transformation
  • Strong budget development and forecasting abilities; understanding of operational budgeting, cost management, variance analysis, and financial reporting
