Anderson Equipment Company is one of the largest heavy equipment distribution companies in the Northeast. It is a family-owned, private company that has consistently grown and achieved financial success for almost 90 years. Currently in its third generation of family ownership and management, the company spans six states – West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine with 19 branch locations.

Job Description Summary:

Anderson Equipment’s Service Intern program is designed to enable the employee to gain experience in the maintenance and repair of construction equipment. While this position lists only 4 of our branches, all 19 are eligible for this program.

Interns will take directions from the Service Manager, Leadman, or experienced Service Technicians over the duration of the internship. Interns will be assigned work which will include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Assist other Service Technicians in more complicated repairs.
  • Perform tasks such as:
    1. Loading and unloading machinery.
    2. Completing check in and check out procedures.
    3. Fueling equipment.
    4. Steam cleaning machines.
    5. Organizing equipment and attachments in yard.

The goal of an internship is to expose the employee to new concepts and techniques while reinforcing subject matter covered in the individual’s classwork.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma;
  • Currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited vocational college relevant to the repair and maintenance of construction equipment;
  • Basic familiarity of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems considered a plus;
  • Basic understanding of computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
  • Ownership of adequate hand tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation depends on location, experience/skills, overtime: $19.00-$24.00 per hour.
  • This is a temporary position. The Service Intern is not eligible for company provided benefits including Paid Time Off (PTO).
