What engineers make $200,000 a year?

Manufacturing engineers can earn $200,000 or more annually, especially with extensive experience, advanced skills in automation and process optimization, and in senior or managerial roles. High salaries are often associated with industries like aerospace, automotive, or specialized manufacturing, and may require certifications such as Six Sigma or professional engineering licensure.

What are some common challenges a Manufacturing Engineer faces in optimizing production processes?

Manufacturing Engineers often encounter challenges such as balancing efficiency with product quality, minimizing production costs while maintaining safety standards, and implementing new technologies without disrupting existing workflows. They may also need to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to resolve issues quickly. Staying up-to-date with industry advancements and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma is essential to overcoming these challenges and driving process enhancements.

What are Manufacturing Engineers?

Manufacturing Engineers are professionals who design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes in factories and production plants. They focus on increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring that products are made safely and cost-effectively. Their work often involves collaborating with other engineers, quality control teams, and production staff to optimize workflows and integrate new technologies into manufacturing systems.

What is the job of a manufacturing engineer?

A manufacturing engineer designs, develops, and improves manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and safety. They analyze production workflows, select appropriate tools and equipment, and often use CAD software to optimize operations. The role typically requires knowledge of engineering principles, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.

What Is a Manufacturing Engineer?

A manufacturing engineer is a specialized engineer who improves product manufacturing processes. As a manufacturing engineer, your primary duties are to design and develop production systems and improve the tools and systems within the manufacturing process. You will use computer software such as CAD to create, modify, and test the products and manufacturing processes.

What engineering jobs pay $500,000?

Since 1995, we have delivered over 12,000 unmanned air vehicles to the Department of Defense, allied nations, and commercial customers. We pride ourselves on being a lion-hearted partner, designing, building, and flying the most capable and intelligent aerial systems that give our servicemen an unfair advantage wherever they fly.
Position Summary
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer II/III specializing in quality and process implementation in our Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS) production. The ideal candidate will facilitate quality inspection implementation, standard processes, and proper tooling to meet AS9100/ISO9001 standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Process Architecture: Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing flows for airframe integration and avionics assembly.
  • Quality System Implementation: Lead the deployment of AS9100 or ISO9001 standards on the shop floor. Establish "First Article Inspection" (FAI) protocols for complex electrical assemblies.
  • DFM/DFA Leadership: Act as the primary bridge between R&D and Production. Review new designs for manufacturability, focusing on error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) and assembly repeatability.
  • Yield Improvement: Monitor production data to identify trends. Reduce variability in harness crimping, soldering, and structural bonding.
  • MRB & Root Cause: Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to find the root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Automation & Tooling: Identify opportunities for automation in testing and assembly to remove human error from critical flight-path components.

Required Qualifications
  • Education: B.S. in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: 2-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Medical Device, or Automotive).
  • Quality Toolkit: Strong mastery of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plans, and Gauge R&R.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and complex IPC-620 electrical standards.

Preferred Skills
  • Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MES implementation (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Plex).
  • Prior experience in the UAS/EVTOL industry or with high-voltage battery integration.

Why Join Griffon Aerospace?
At Griffon Aerospace, you'll be part of a team developing next generation unmanned aerial systems for national defense. You'll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your contributions directly impact critical defense capabilities.
