Job description

OSW Equipment & Repair is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our operations in Snohomish, WA.
In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and improving production machinery and equipment used in the fabrication of construction products such as dump bodies, trailers, flatbeds, and tanks. This position focuses on developing and updating 3D CAD models, creating detailed fabrication drawings, and identifying solutions to production challenges related to materials, processes, and tooling. The ideal candidate will contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and support efficient manufacturing operations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for updating 3D detailed cad models and creating finished detailed fabrication drawings using Solid Works -for production designs of dump truck bodies, trailers, flatbeds, water tanks and other construction industry equipment.
  • Transform concept drawings into finish product design along with contributing design modifications to improve quality of product and help to facilitate manufacturing operations.
  • Verify tolerance conditions of multi component assemblies.
  • Review drawings against source documentation or product baselines to ensure accuracy.
  • Create test apparatus to verify form, fit and function.
  • Create fab and assembly instructions for use by shop personnel.
  • Complete documentation packages for projects and produce drawing sets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Able to work with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. Solidworks preferred
  • Ability to read and record accurate measurements with engineering measuring tools such as calipers.
  • Ability to learn new engineering processes and techniques
  • Resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of production principles and techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and constraints.
  • Knowledge of constraints and the associated fabrication print details.
  • Knowledge of basic machining processes
  • Knowledge of sheet metal forming processes and equipment.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required, or 5 years equivalent experience.
  • 0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, Solidworks preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regularly stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, reaching in and around products on production line
  • Lift up to 25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

  • Wage Expectations: $33.65 - $38.46 per hour
  • Pay: This is a non-exempt, hourly position and employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis
  • Typical Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM
  • Location: On Site - 20812 Broadway Ave; Snohomish, WA 98296
  • Travel: Very minimal to none
