Wieland is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for optimizing machining processes within the machine shop to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role drives continuous improvement, supports production and quality objectives, and ensures the implementation of innovative technologies and best practices to meet customer and operational requirements. This role is located in Lima, Ohio and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Analyze current machining processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to increase productivity and reduce costs
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across shop operations
  • Partner with quality teams to ensure processes meet print specifications and customer requirements
  • Support efforts to maintain and improve product quality standards
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production to ensure optimal machine performance
  • Recommend and implement equipment upgrades or replacements
  • Develop and support automation initiatives to improve safety and efficiency
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Track and report KPIs related to process performance and improvements
  • Ensure documentation aligns with operational and quality standards
  • Train operators and staff on new processes, technologies, and best practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Work closely with production, quoting, and quality teams to optimize processes
  • Support alignment across departments to ensure efficient operations

Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (preferred)
