Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a Summer Quality Engineer Intern for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This role provides essential support to the Quality Engineering team by reviewing supplier FAIRs, developing Inspection Checklists and Quality Assurance Instructions (QAI), and assisting EATC Manufacturing and Quality operations as directed by Quality Management. The position helps ensure consistent quality standards and smooth coordination across engineering and manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the manufacturing side of engineering to include but not limited to product quality and supplier quality.  The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential.  

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and validate supplier FAIRs for accuracy and compliance
  • Create detailed Inspection Checklists to support quality and manufacturing processes
  • Develop Quality Assurance Instructions (QAI) to guide inspection and verification activities
  • Provide support to EATC Manufacturing and Quality teams as directed by Quality Management
  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to ensure consistent application of quality standards
  • Assist in maintaining documentation and records required for audits and quality reviews
  • Help identify and communicate quality issues or process gaps
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality organization
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED, and currently a Junior or above in a Bachelor's program in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering or a related technical field
  • Interest in the manufacturing side of engineering but not limited to product quality and supplier quality
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and interpret technical documents and test materials
  • Basic understanding of quality principles, testing methods, or engineering processes
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools

The salary range for this position is $41,011.00/year - $53,315.00/year.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
