Environmental Health & Safety College Co-Op

Job Description Summary

As an EHS Co-op, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to help ensure a safe workplace for all associates, visitors, and contractors, protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all global and local regulations.
This role partners with multiple departments across the facility to promote a strong safety culture and reinforce that EHS is a team effort. The EHS Co-op will report directly to the EHS Manager and gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Description:

  • Assists in inspection/auditing of facility and work areas to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Assist the plant in maintaining S4 status through the 11 Elements of our corporate EH&S System.
  • Conduct job hazard analysis.
  • Make studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies
  • Assist in formulating general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
  • Prepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences and exhibitions.
  • Ensure continual improvement with environmental projects
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree fulltime at an accredited university.
  • Graduate date of May 2027 or later
  • Available to work a minimum of 25 hours per week year-round.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be able to work in the US without Visa Sponsorship.
