Job description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Located at our Byron Center, MI location, our Door Assembly Associates help with the production process of a variety of interior and exterior wood and composite materials. They also work to install glass and door bottoms, package doors, and complete other value-add processes to doors being cut by the CNC. These associates are responsible for the timeliness, accuracy, and completion of these daily operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Installing glass and other door components.
  • Ensuring the proper quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all doors.
  • Properly staging all doors for production or shipping.
  • Assisting with all teams of finish department to ensure the highest quality finished product.
  • Maintaining the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the door area, assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Ensuring that all production areas are properly supplied for the day's work.
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

This position offers a $300 annual clothing allowance to offset costs for work apparel, protective footwear, and PPE.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma/GED required
  • Prior woodworking would be considered a plus; router, miter saws, table saws
  • Prior cabinet manufacturing or trim carpentry work would be considered a plus
  • Knowledge of exterior doors would be considered a plus, but not required.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to accurately read orders and stage material to internal customer needs
  • Desire to "do things right the first time"

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lb
  • Ability to stand for 8-10 hours/day
