Job description

Applications Engineer - EDM
Mason, OH

Reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager, the EDM Applications Engineer assists Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Executive Staff by providing technical information for the tooling, programming and EDM process. They are subject matter experts who take the Engineering Manager's direction and are responsible for providing others with area-specific instructions. In addition, they may be required to perform the same duties as area workers. The EDM Applications Engineer must be a team player, professional, and willing to interface with customers, engineering staff, and lead & train Operators in the shop floor environment.

Core Functions:  

  • Develops and improves EDM parameters for new and existing projects. 
  • Utlizes knowledge of G and M Code Programming to assist with project improvement/development 
  • Assits Manufacturing Engineers in converting engineering drawings and specification requirements into precise manufacturing operations and quality instructions for the operators. 
  • Provides leadership to others through training and sharing of knowledge and skills. 
  • Particpates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Setups and runs machines or processes required to process jobs per drawings and specs
  • Particpates and helps coordinate on-site OEM training
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.

Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to work with standard mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. 
  • Experience with Siemens NX 
  • Experinece with Mitsubishi and/or Sodick EDM

  • Ability to operate autonomously and self-direct

Physical Demand Levels: 

  • Lift, Push, and Pull up to 35 pounds
  • Bend, Crouch, and Reach at least 50% of scheduled shift

Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 
Compensation: $100-$140k, contingent on experience
