What does a manual test engineer do?

A Manual Test Engineer is responsible for testing software applications manually to identify defects and ensure that the product meets specified requirements. They design test cases, execute them without the use of automation tools, and document the results. Manual Test Engineers collaborate closely with developers and other stakeholders to report bugs and verify fixes. Their work is crucial for ensuring the quality and reliability of software before it reaches end users.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a manual test engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Manual Test Engineer, you need a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, attention to detail, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA, test management systems, and basic knowledge of SQL are commonly required.
