We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and lead the next generation of automation solutions supporting enterprise storage and backup infrastructure. This role combines deep software engineering expertise with technical leadership responsibilities and is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving large‑scale infrastructure challenges while mentoring others and driving engineering excellence.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering automation platforms that simplify infrastructure provisioning, configuration, operational management, and self‑service capabilities for internal customers. The role requires a strong Python development background, experience with modern software engineering practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure engineers, operations teams, architects, and business stakeholders.

As a senior member of the team, this individual is expected to provide technical leadership, influence architectural decisions, promote engineering best practices, and help guide the team's technical direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Expert‑level proficiency in Python
  • Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, object‑oriented design, and distributed systems
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies
  • Experience working with Linux‑based environments
  • Strong experience with source control systems such as Git and modern development workflows
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence outcomes across teams
  • Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar platforms in professional software development workflows
