Position Overview
Our team is growing! Carr Lane Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to produce precision components that meet exacting standards. In this role, you'll set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment while interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to deliver high-quality parts. Your expertise with precision measurement tools and commitment to accuracy will ensure every component meets specification. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their craftsmanship, values safety, and thrives in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Precision Machining
  • Set up and operate manual machines to produce components with standard and special tolerances
  • Select and use appropriate tooling and machine programming techniques

Quality Assurance
  • Conduct in-process quality checks throughout manufacturing and assembly
  • Use precision measurement tools to verify part conformance
  • Test assembled components to ensure proper function and quality standards

General Duties
  • Support department operations with additional tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience operating manual machining equipment.
  • Ability to follow directions carefully and adhere to deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience operation a Bridgeport is preferred

Physical Requirements
Required:
  • Perform varied physical activities dependent on position requirements.
  • Close visual acuity
  • Work in an environment with moderate noise, machinery, hazards, and oils.
  • Lift up to 35 lbs.
