Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Engineer position comprises a balance of technical expertise in data/metric analysis with a strategic drive to create customer value through process improvements, cost reduction and product improvement
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Key organizational resource, requiring daily interaction with all levels of the organization in which you support
  • Provide timely and relevant metrics to VSM and Director
  • Active participation in identifying production flow issues stemming from work sequencing, task/line balancing, tooling/equipment constraints, and manpower allocation/training
  • Create and automate delivery of KPIs such as Efficiency, DCI & Overtime.
  • Application of standard hours through use of appropriate models, tools and methods to assure time standards are appropriately applied to produce new parts/assemblies
  • Develop learning curves and actual hour projections for new programs; analyze actual performance and makes necessary process improvement recommendations
  • Analyze and makes recommendations regarding production facility arrangements for improvements to production capacity, manufacturing flow, new model incorporation, and strategic work transitions; maintains current production area layouts and equipment locations per defined process standards
  • Analyze and solve production flow issues stemming from sequence of work, balance of tasks, tooling/equipment constraints, and manpower allocation/training
  • Gather, analyze, and summarizes production process data for their use in valuing and prioritizing process continuous improvement opportunities; utilize Lean/CI methodologies to lead, implement, and track improvements
  • Drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Track labor, efficient manpower utilization and line balancing
  • Control and management of work center configuration settings for SAP Capacity Planning
  • Assist in the preparation of cost development model
  • Value stream mapping, network mapping and associated gap analysis
  • Implement methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
  • Utilize Simulation modeling software to identify and alleviate capacity constraints and improve product cycle times
  • Provide Capacity Planning and Headcount modeling to assist in identifying pending gaps in manpower and associated resources
  • Software Proficiency in SAP, AutoCad, Microsoft Office (Excel & Access), Simulation software
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of CATIA, Coding and Programming software.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relative field
  • Minimum 2 years of required experience required in industrial, manufacturing, or relative engineering field

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop positive relationships and influence across all levels of the organization is essential.
  • Effective presenter with demonstrated experience pulling together concepts and solutions in a succinct and clear manner
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-disciplined environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Independently identify and lead significant impact projects and programs. Identify areas of need, recommend and guide company process improvement strategies
  • Demonstrated analytical and practical problem solving/process improvement experience and familiar with the Lean Tool Set application
  • Bias for action and ability to shift processes and priorities quickly
  • High intellectual horsepower to quickly bring together concepts, data, and manufacturing practices
  • Stays up to date with technology and changes in the industry to ensure that new opportunities are incorporated into existing processes.
  • Highly proficient in use of Microsoft Office software, including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
