Job description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing properties and help ensure exceptional performance across operations, resident satisfaction, and financial results. In this role, you will provide leadership to on-site teams, support property-level goals, and help drive consistent service standards across multiple communities. Must be able to communicate clearly with owners, timely and with attention to detail to build and ensure confidence in our company.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee daily operations across a regional portfolio of affordable housing properties to support occupancy, retention, and financial performance goals.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to property managers and on-site teams.
  • Monitor budgets, operating expenses, rent collections, and other key financial metrics.
  • Review property performance reports and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and results.
  • Support leasing strategy, resident retention efforts, and customer service initiatives.
  • Conduct quarterly property visits to assess operations, compliance, curb appeal, and team performance or on a as needed basis.
  • Partner with maintenance, asset management, and leadership teams to address operational priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, fair housing practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with staffing, training, performance management, and team development.
  • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, and action plans to leadership and owners.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience in property management, with multi-site or regional oversight preferred. Background in affordable housing (RD, HUD, LIHTC) is a must. 
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and support diverse teams.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and operational performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively across multiple locations.
  • Working knowledge of fair housing requirements and property management best practices.
  • Proficiency with property management software, reporting tools, and standard business applications. Experience with Voyager/Yardi is a plus.
  • Professional, service-oriented approach with a focus on accountability and results.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience overseeing a portfolio of affordable housing residential, multifamily, or mixed-use properties.
  • Experience developing and implementing operational improvements.
  • Certification or relevant training in property management, real estate, or related disciplines.
