JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer and researcher to create, write, and successfully publish a neutral, well-sourced company Wikipedia article. The contractor will manage the full lifecycle of the article — from sourcing reliable references to navigating Wikipedia’s submission and review process — ensuring the page meets notability and content standards. Key Responsibilities • Conduct a notability assessment of the company against Wikipedia’s General Notability Guideline (GNG). • Provide a written assessment confirming notability before drafting. • Identify and compile 5–10 reliable, independent third-party sources (excluding press releases or promotional content). • Deliver a source list with URLs and publication dates for client review. • Draft the article in a neutral point of view (NPOV) following Wikipedia’s editorial policies. • Structure the article with introduction, company history, products/services, milestones, and references. • Format the article using proper Wikipedia markup (wikitext), including citations, categories, and infobox. • Submit draft for client review and incorporate one round of feedback. • Manage submission through Wikipedia’s Articles for Creation (AfC) process or main namespace if eligible. • Monitor submission, respond to reviewer feedback, and make revisions to secure approval. • Provide a summary report of the submission process and editorial decisions. • If declined after two rounds of revision, deliver a written explanation of editorial feedback. • Comply with Wikipedia’s paid editing disclosure policy by disclosing relationship on user page and article talk page. Required Qualifications • Demonstrated experience writing and publishing Wikipedia articles (portfolio of contributions required). • Strong knowledge of Wikipedia’s core content policies: Notability, NPOV, Verifiability, and No Original Research. • Familiarity with Wikipedia’s Articles for Creation (AfC) workflow. • Proficiency in wikitext markup and citation formatting. • Excellent research skills with ability to identify credible, independent sources. • Strong written English and ability to write in an encyclopedic, neutral tone. Preferred Qualifications • Wikipedia account with autoconfirmed or extended-confirmed status. • Experience editing company/organization or business-related articles. • Familiarity with Wikipedia’s conflict of interest (COI) guidelines and paid editing disclosure requirements.
