Position Summary

As a Reach Truck Operator, you are a precision specialist responsible for the backbone of our inventory flow. You will utilize high-reach stand-up forklifts to manage vertical storage, ensuring maximum density and safety. This role requires high spatial awareness, technical proficiency with SAP Warehouse Management, and a commitment to operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Precision Equipment Operation

  • High-Bay Mastery: Expertly operate stand-up reach trucks to retrieve and put away pallets at heights of 25 to 35 feet within narrow-aisle configurations.
  • Navigation: Maneuver safely through high-traffic zones with zero contact to racking, sprinklers, or products.
  • Inspections: Conduct and digitally document daily pre-flight safety checks; immediately escalate mechanical needs to maintenance.

SAP & Tech Integration

  • SAP Proficiency: Use handheld RF scanners to execute real-time transactions in SAP, ensuring 100% accuracy for every pallet movement and transfer.
  • Strategic Staging: Pick and stage outbound shipments to optimize loading windows based on SAP-generated work orders.
  • Quality Control: Audit product codes, quantities, and pallet integrity against digital SAP records during put-away.

Safety & Leadership

  • Active Safety: Maintain a "safety scout" mindset, identifying and reporting floor hazards immediately while adhering to all OSHA standards.
  • KPI Performance: Meet or exceed hourly pallet-movement targets while maintaining a damage-free record.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with floor leads to resolve bottlenecks and maintain warehouse organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience operating reach trucks or similar equipment.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications: Certified Forklift Operator; Valid reach truck operator certification.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail; familiarity with warehouse tech (tablets, scanners); physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $18–$20/hour, based on experience.
  • Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage after 90 days.
  • Time Off: Paid holidays and PTO available after 90 days.
  • PPE: Steel-toe boots required; additional PPE provided by BWT Logistics.

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Mon–Fri)
  • Mid Shift 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
