Position Summary:
The Cisco Networking Adjunct Faculty is responsible for teaching Cisco Network Academy
courses. The instructor will engage students through classroom, online, and/or hybrid
modalities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teach up to nine credit hours in Cisco Networking, Computer Hardware/Software,
    Cybersecurity, or related areas.
  • Develop and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials
    aligned with program and institutional learning outcomes.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to meet diverse student needs including
    hands-on labs, simulations, and project-based learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and participate in departmental
    assessment activities.
  • Learn new material to stay current with industry certifications, trends, and
    technologies.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related
field.
• College-level teaching experience, especially in a community college setting.
• Experience with online instruction and course development.
• Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and server-based operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox), cloud technologies (e.g.,
AWS, Azure), or cybersecurity labs.
• Commitment to student success, equity, and access in education.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field,
Industry Certifications and relevant industry experience.
• Certified as a Cisco Certified Instructor with knowledge with Cisco Networking (e.g., Cisco
Certified Network Associate CCNA-level content).
• Teaching experience or training experience in IT or networking-related areas or using Cisco
Networking Academy materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use learning management systems (e.g., Canvas).
