Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of hardware and system engineers to perform schematic capture, layout, mechanical and RF design.
  • Interface with product management, firmware and mobile teams to refine requirements, and ensure that designs and deliverables meet market needs.
  • Transition designs to manufacturing, working with both onshore and offshore manufacturing partners.
  • Define quality standards, own documentation and change management processes to ensure reliability and QA testing.
  • Cultivate relationships with component and module vendors, stay in touch with industry trends and develop the hardware product roadmap.
  • Participate in industry forums and represent the company at standards bodies.
Qualifications
  • Strong EE fundamentals with a degree in electrical or computer engineering.
  • At least 10 years of industry experience with demonstrated progression from design engineer to lead engineer and then to manager.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a people manager
  • Hands-on expertise in schematic capture and PCB layout for wireless products
  • Experience with using standard lab equipment such as a DMM, oscilloscope and logic analyzer.
  • Familiarity with NPI and manufacturing processes including management of Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and version control.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently to take projects from start to finish
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize and present to non-technical audiences
