About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead two product engineering teams that support our ecommerce platform. This leader will be responsible for team execution, technical quality, delivery predictability, engineering practices, and talent development.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate at the intersection of people, product, architecture, and execution. You will partner closely with Product, UX, QA, Architecture, DevOps, Security, Data, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital commerce capabilities across web, mobile, and platform services.

The ideal candidate has experience leading teams that build with React Native, Node.js, APIs, cloud-native services, and modern ecommerce architectures. They should also be comfortable helping teams adopt AI-assisted engineering practices, including responsible use of coding assistants to improve speed, quality, testing, documentation, and developer experience.

What You’ll Lead

You will manage two product teams focused on ecommerce platform capabilities, including areas such as:

  • CITY HOME ecommerce
  • React Native mobile app capabilities
  • Node.js backend services and APIs
  • Checkout and cart capabilities
  • Payments, financing, Apple Pay, PayPal, and related integrations
  • Customer-facing digital experiences across web and mobile
  • Platform observability and production performance
  • API and integration patterns supporting omnichannel commerce
  • Reliability, scalability, and technical debt reduction
  • Responsible adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop engineers across two ecommerce product teams
  • Own team delivery health, sprint execution, roadmap alignment, and operational discipline
  • Partner with Product Managers to translate business outcomes into clear technical execution plans
  • Guide delivery across React Native mobile applications, Node.js services, APIs, and ecommerce platform capabilities
  • Drive strong engineering practices, including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, secure development, and production readiness
  • Help teams use AI coding assistants responsibly to improve delivery speed, test coverage, documentation, refactoring, and developer productivity
  • Work with architects and senior engineers to guide technical design decisions
  • Remove blockers and create focus so teams can deliver predictable outcomes
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with CITY HOME’s modernization strategy
  • Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement for production systems
  • Manage performance, career growth, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning for team members
  • Promote a culture of ownership, learning, collaboration, accountability, and practical innovation
 What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams
  • Experience supporting ecommerce, retail, marketplace, digital commerce, or customer-facing web/mobile platforms
  • Strong experience with Node.js and modern API/service-based architectures
  • Experience with React Native or mobile application engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of modern web architectures, cloud platforms, CI/CD, observability, and production support
  • Experience working with cross-functional product teams
  • Ability to coach engineers, set expectations, and improve team performance
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a modernization environment with legacy systems, integrations, and evolving architecture
  • Practical understanding of Agile delivery, engineering metrics, and continuous improvement
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and how to use them responsibly in a professional engineering environment
  • Strong bias for action, with good judgment around quality, risk, security, and long-term maintainability
  • Valid Florida Driver License
 Preferred Experience
  • Experience with composable or headless ecommerce platforms
  • Experience with React Native, Node.js, React, Kubernetes, AWS, or similar modern engineering stacks
  • Experience with payment, financing, OMS, ERP, CRM, or retail integrations
  • Familiarity with SRE practices, production observability, incident management, and service reliability
  • Experience leading teams through platform modernization or replatforming efforts
  • Experience introducing AI-assisted development practices, coding assistants, automated code review support, or developer productivity tools
  • Experience managing distributed, hybrid, or vendor-augmented engineering teams
 What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means your teams are clear, focused, and delivering meaningful ecommerce platform improvements with quality and consistency.

You will help create a stronger engineering culture, improve delivery predictability, reduce operational friction, and build platform capabilities that support CITY HOME’s growth.

You will be expected to lead with ownership, raise the bar for execution, and help engineers grow while keeping the customer and business outcomes at the center of the work.
