Job description

To perform warehouse duties (including loading and unloading of product) that ensure the safe, efficient and properly maintained operation of the warehouse. Occasionally make deliveries to accounts or other distributors as needed or requested.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly and safely unload incoming trucks. Initiate all necessary paperwork relating to shipments.
  • Properly unload all remaining products from delivery equipment and ensure proper paperwork is completed. Verify the condition and dates of the products returned.
  • Follow proper rotation procedures as established by management. Properly tag all products placed in beer storage. Ensure proper spacing and orderliness of product in storage areas. Have knowledge of all package codes by brewery for easy identification.
  • Follow loading procedures and accurately load route delivery equipment so product can be transported and delivered in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Deliver product to accounts or other distributors as requested.
  • Check forklift daily before operating to ensure safe operation. Follow procedures for maintaining checks and battery charging.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean warehouse to include cleaning up spills, sweeping and mopping as needed or requested.
  • Repack product to meet company standards for delivery and shipments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • One year warehouse, loading or stocking experience preferred.
  • One year forklift experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to safely lift, stack and handle up to 55- pound case of beer frequently.
  • Must be able to safely lift and handle a 165 pound barrel of beer occasionally.
  • Must be able to push/pull a loaded hand truck of product with loads up to 330 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to safely lift an empty pallet weighing approximately 55 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely operate a glue gun for repacking of product.
  • Must be able to use a broom and mop and be able to drive floor sweeper.
  • Must be able to pass forklift safety exam and the behind the wheel test.
  • Must be able to couple and uncouple a trailer from a tractor.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work night shift (Sun-Thurs).various shifts (day and evening shifts).
  • Must be dependable and trustworthy.
  • Must be able to take direction well from various staff levels.
  • Must have excellent listening skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This position requires a self-motivated, high energy individual who is able to work quickly, accurately and effectively with a sense of urgency about getting work done in a safe manner while maintaining a high level of quality service. This position involves strenuous work requiring standing, sitting, walking, driving, stooping, bending, kneeling, pivot twisting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling and balancing. Must be able to work outdoors and in wet and cold (below freezing) weather. Must provide own work boots (steel-toed required). This is a union position. Typical work shifts starts at 4:00 pm Sunday, 6:00 pm Monday-Thursday.
