Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Tax Manager specializing in Tax Accounting & Reporting to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key member of the Corporate Tax Department, overseeing the company's income tax reporting processes and special projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in U.S. federal and state income tax, experience with multinational operations, and a collaborative mindset to drive process improvements and ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including:
    • Calculating current and deferred tax provisions
    • Ensuring accurate reporting of uncertain tax positions and valuation allowances
    • Preparing and analyzing tax-related journal entries and reconciliations
    • Preparing and reviewing tax footnotes and disclosures for financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of the effective tax rate (ETR) calculations and forecasts, including analysis of drivers and variances.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries related to tax reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls related to tax reporting processes, including documentation and testing of key controls.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards to assess their impact on the company's tax provision and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax-related schedules and reports for management
  • Support the maintenance of tax provision software (i.e. Hyperion Tax Provision), ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Perform tax research and document technical analyses related to tax accounting and reporting matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and minimum 12 years of prior relevant tax experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws and ASC 740.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Excel expected
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships cross-functionally within the organization
  • CPA, JD, or MST a plus
  • Experience with a Big 4 or regional accounting firm and/or large tax department of a multinational company
