Job description

Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights Available)


Compensation
  • Local Rate: $34 - $40/hour

  • Travel Rate: $42 - $50/hour


Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to support surgical teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining sterile conditions, preparing operating rooms, and assisting surgeons during procedures to ensure safe and efficient surgical outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize the operating room prior to surgery

  • Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments and supplies

  • Assist in patient preparation, including positioning and site preparation

  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures

  • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations

  • Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure smooth workflow during procedures

  • Handle surgical instruments, sutures, and equipment efficiently

  • Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures

  • Assist with wound closure and application of dressings

  • Operate and manage surgical equipment (lights, suction devices, etc.)

  • Dispose of biohazard materials in compliance with safety protocols


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience

  • BLS Certification (Required)

  • Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and operating room protocols

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
