Position Overview

The Senior Solution Architect will provide engineering and operational support for Windows endpoint deployment and Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) environments. The role focuses on operating-system deployment (OSD), task-sequence management, Dell factory deployment integration, hardware-driver configuration, image lifecycle management, and Windows feature upgrades.

The consultant will act as a technical liaison between SCCM administrators, image-development teams, hardware engineering, and deployment teams to ensure reliable and repeatable endpoint deployments.

Key Responsibilities SCCM & OS Deployment
  • Configure, maintain, and validate SCCM Operating System Deployment (OSD) task sequences.
  • Implement and validate Dell factory deployment integration for each task-sequence release.
  • Export approved task sequences and coordinate delivery to factory deployment environments.
  • Assist with SCCM OSD configuration and provide deployment best-practice recommendations.
  • Support Windows 10 feature upgrades and Windows-as-a-Service (WaaS) deployment processes.
  • Participate in image-release planning, validation, and rollout scheduling.
Hardware & Driver Engineering
  • Provide technical guidance on hardware-driver configurations during platform transitions.
  • Troubleshoot driver conflicts and compatibility issues affecting Dell-branded systems.
  • Provide engineering-level support for hardware, driver, and deployment-related issues.
  • Validate driver packages and configurations as part of image and task-sequence releases.
  • Recommend appropriate hardware and driver configurations to support reliable deployments.
Factory Deployment & Testing
  • Coordinate first-article testing for new factory deployment projects.
  • Collect testing feedback and coordinate required approvals with customer testing teams.
  • Provide guidance on proper configuration for deployments performed through factory services.
  • Validate deployment processes before production rollout.
  • Identify and resolve issues discovered during factory testing and acceptance activities.
Image Lifecycle Management
  • Support Windows image development, validation, release, and rollout activities.
  • Coordinate image updates with SCCM and deployment teams.
  • Assist with maintaining standardized images and deployment configurations.
  • Provide recommendations regarding image-release schedules and deployment readiness.
  • Ensure task sequences and associated drivers remain aligned with approved image releases.
Documentation & Process Development
  • Contribute to operational documentation covering:
    • System architecture
    • SCCM OSD processes
    • Image management
    • Maintenance procedures
    • Upgrade procedures
    • Deployment processes
  • Develop and maintain technical procedures and best-practice documentation.
  • Document lessons learned, deployment issues, and recommended improvements.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as a technical liaison between SCCM administrators, image-development teams, factory deployment engineers, and customer stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technical requirements across deployment and engineering teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations throughout the deployment lifecycle.
  • Help establish consistent and repeatable endpoint deployment processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM / Configuration Manager.
  • Hands-on experience with SCCM OSD and task sequences.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 deployment and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with Windows imaging, driver management, and endpoint deployment.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware-driver conflicts and deployment issues.
  • Understanding of Windows feature upgrades and Windows-as-a-Service concepts.
  • Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across engineering, infrastructure, and deployment teams.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Dell endpoint hardware and factory deployment processes.
  • Experience with automated or factory-based Windows deployments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise endpoint-management environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Windows image releases and migrations.
  • Familiarity with hardware transitions and driver-package lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in federal, defense, or other secure enterprise environments.
