The Marina Service Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all marina service inquiries and operations, including vessel maintenance and repair activities, work order management, customer service, and revenue performance. This role ensures that service work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards while delivering exceptional customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for marina service inquiries.

  • Schedule, prioritize, and monitor vessel direct and service work orders to meet customer expectations and timelines.

  • Prepare service estimates and communicate repair recommendations.

  • Provide timely updates regarding work progress, costs, and completion schedules.

  • Ensure subs are properly vetted for insurance.

  • Assist with ancillary services: waste oil, hazmat, crane, floats, etc.

  • Monitor service quality and conduct final inspections when necessary.

  • Coordinate with PD and/or PSSS for AWA's and scope change.

  • Resolve customer concerns and complaints professionally and effectively.

  • Assist with final billing and collection when necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education
  • Associate degree in Marine Technology, Business Management, or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of marina, marine service, boatyard, or related technical management experience.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5 years' relevant experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
  • Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
  • Must carry own tools
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Basic boat handling skills a plus
  • Any skills considered standard that a Service Manager should possess
