General Description

The function of this role is to identify and develop business opportunities and maintain product line focus on our Automation and Robotics product lines, Systems and services Proax (ABB robot, Omron robot, and end of arm tooling). The BD will be responsible for generating revenue growth from the vendor and customer perspective. Provide market intelligence to management teams (Marketing, Sales, Value Add, Operations, and NBDM), while keeping update on market price and inventory. This will include the development of an annual budget both for the vendors and customers. You will be reporting to the National Business Development Manager, responsible for the specific market segment.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with sales team to develop a business plan that includes marketing strategies to achieve revenue growth in verticals based on customer needs and volume potential
  • Assist sales representatives by making joint calls to develop business
  • Responsible for vendor liaison; development of an annual budget; define targets and objectives; meet and exceed annual revenue target
  • Work with customers to attain opportunities to develop "Proof of Concept" solutions for various Automation or Robotic systems
  • Assist engineers in the design, configuration, or application of robotic and automation systems
  • Arrange training for customers or other personnel to install, use, or maintain robots and automation systems
  • Maintain Project/Activity in CRM (HubSpot)
  • Pursue sales leads and prospective clients
  • Demonstrate ability to accept overall project management responsibility
  • Understanding of electrical/electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
  • Accurately and professionally represent Proax Technologies to customers and vendors
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and reporting this to key staff members

Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automation sales
  • Emphasis is placed on robots integration/implementation with different kinematics and applications with motion and vision systems
  • Knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting with machine automation
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
  • Excellent leadership, communication (oral & Written), interpersonal, organization and presentation skills
  • Outstanding needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Technologist Diploma related to Computer Science, Mechanical or Controls/Electromechanical engineering, or Mechatronics, with a preference to electrical, mechanical and robotics specialization.
  • Excellent computer skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Bilingual in English and French an asset
