Job description

Job Title: Data Scientist Job Category: Science Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local Anticipated Posting End: There is not an anticipated end date for this posting since applications are needed on an ongoing basis. The Opportunity Join a team dedicated to advancing national security through data-driven insights, advanced analytics, and innovative technology. CACI is seeking Data Scientists at the Journeyman and Senior levels to support a mission-focused program delivering analytical, advisory, and operational capabilities across geographic and functional Combatant Commands.

In this role, you will apply data science, statistical analysis, automation, and emerging technologies to complex operational challenges within the information environment and irregular warfare (IW) mission space. You will work with diverse datasets to identify trends, develop analytical models, measure operational effects, and transform complex information into actionable insights for mission partners and senior decision-makers. This is an opportunity to combine technical data science expertise with real-world national security missions, working alongside intelligence, operations, research, and technology professionals to help address evolving global threats.

Responsibilities Analyze large, complex, and diverse datasets to establish baselines, identify patterns and trends, develop indicators, and support operational decision-making. Develop and automate analytic workflows using Python, R, and related data science tools to accelerate data discovery, processing, and analysis. Apply statistical and quantitative techniques including regression, hypothesis testing, sampling, longitudinal analysis, network analysis, modeling, and reliability/validity assessment.

Develop prototypes, scripts, and analytical tools that improve data collection, processing, integration, visualization, and synthesis. Apply AI/ML and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to structured and unstructured data, including text, survey responses, social media, and operational reporting. Conduct qualitative and mixed-methods analysis using techniques such as thematic coding, classification, sentiment analysis, and NLP-assisted analysis.

Develop dashboards, visualizations, and analytical products that communicate complex findings to operational leaders and mission stakeholders. Integrate analytical findings with intelligence and operational reporting to establish baselines, measure effects, identify emerging trends, and assess OIE/IW activities. Manage and optimize analytical datasets, databases, metadata, and longitudinal data to support repeatable analysis and research.

Apply geospatial analysis and visualization techniques to assess information environment dynamics, geographic patterns, and audience characteristics. Leverage social media and publicly available data using automated collection, analytics, AI/ML, and NLP techniques to evaluate reach, behavior, trends, and operational effects. Support research and assessment design by developing analytical methodologies, data collection strategies, assessment criteria, and measures of performance and effectiveness.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across intelligence, operations, technology, and research functions to translate mission requirements into data-driven analytical solutions. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, or another quantitative or analytical discipline. TS/SCI clearance 3+ years relevant professional experience conducting quantitative, qualitative, statistical, or data science analysis in operational, intelligence, research, or similarly complex environments.

Level will be determined based on education, experience, and demonstrated technical expertise. Proficiency with Python and/or R for statistical analysis, data processing, automation, modeling, or analytical tool development. Experience applying statistical or data science methodologies such as regression, hypothesis testing, sampling, longitudinal analysis, clustering, classification, or predictive modeling.

Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and/or unstructured datasets. Experience developing data visualizations, dashboards, or analytical products that translate complex findings into actionable insights. Experience with data management practices, including maintaining analytical datasets, databases, metadata, or longitudinal data.

Ability to integrate quantitative findings with operational, intelligence, research, or assessment information. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to obtain a DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification within 90 days of hire, if required by the position.

Desired Qualifications Prior experience supporting DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), Combatant Command (COCOM), or other national security missions. Experience supporting Operations in the Information Environment (OIE), Irregular Warfare (IW), information operations, intelligence, or operational assessment missions. Experience developing or applying machine learning models, NLP pipelines, generative AI, or other advanced analytics capabilities.

Experience with automated data collection, web scraping, APIs, or social media analytics. Experience with geospatial analysis tools and technologies such as ArcGIS, QGIS, GeoPandas, or other Python geospatial libraries. Experience with data visualization or business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Plotly, or similar tools.

Familiarity with operational assessment frameworks, including Measures of Performance (MOPs), Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), and Measures of Effectiveness Indicators (MOEIs). Experience with research design, experimental or quasi-experimental methods, survey analysis, or mixed-methods research. Current Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certification.

Experience operating in NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, or other classified environments. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available.
