Healthy Mind and Soul Counseling Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that foster emotional well-being and promote healthier lifestyles.

Work Environment

This remote role allows for a flexible work setting while still being part of a dynamic team dedicated to weight management. You will have the autonomy to manage your schedule, typically working 32 to 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, without the obligation of on-call duties. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' mental health and behavioral aspects concerning obesity and binge eating through in-depth interviews and standardized assessment tools.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling tailored to address the unique emotional and psychological challenges faced by patients in their weight control journey.
  • Develop comprehensive and personalized treatment plans that reflect each patientโ€™s individual needs, goals, and preferences, adjusting strategies as necessary based on progress.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methodologies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing, to empower patients to modify their dietary and lifestyle habits.
  • Lead or co-facilitate group therapy sessions focused on weight management, fostering a supportive environment for patients to share experiences and glean insights from peers.
  • Document patient interactions meticulously using EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) to maintain a comprehensive record of assessments, treatment plans, and progress evaluations.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, nutritionists, and physical therapists, to provide holistic treatment that addresses both health and psychological needs.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest research in mental health and weight management, participating in continuous professional development activities.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards of care, ensuring confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically focuses on clients dealing with obesity and binge eating, which often have a significant emotional and psychological component. You will engage with a diverse patient population, providing support that facilitates understanding of emotional triggers and unhealthy behaviors, while promoting healthier coping strategies.

Qualifications
  • A master's degree in mental health counseling or a related field is required.
  • An unrestricted Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license to practice in the State of Florida.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, essential for effective patient interaction and documentation.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 15 lbs as required for administrative tasks.
  • Vision capabilities must include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception, allowing for accurate documentation and patient assessment.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
