Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate each client's unique eating disorder symptoms, mental health history, and treatment needs.
  • Formulate individualized treatment plans utilizing assessments and client collaboration to set realistic recovery goals.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) within a structured session format.
  • Facilitate engaging and supportive therapy sessions that address and challenge clients' distorted beliefs about food, body image, and self-worth.
  • Guide clients in cultivating healthy coping mechanisms, emotional regulation skills, and effective strategies to overcome disordered eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate proactively with other members of the treatment team to ensure continuity of care and a cohesive approach to addressing the holistic needs of clients.
  • Enhance client education by providing psychoeducation to both clients and their families, fostering a supportive and informed recovery environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, treatment plans, and client progress, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and professional development activities to share insights, enhance clinical skills, and stay updated on the latest advancements in eating disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses primarily on individuals confronting eating disorders, which can be complicated by co-occurring mental health conditions. Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Active licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in the state of California.
  • Proficient in evidence-based therapeutic approaches, specifically CBT, DBT, and ACT, with demonstrated knowledge of their application in treating eating disorders.
