Job Title: Event Technician
Employment Status: Full-Time
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Events Technical Manager
Salary: $32.69 - $35.35 Hourly, Depending on Experience and adjusted local market rates.*

Position Summary
The Event Technician assists with the technical planning and execution of events as well as productions at Museum of the Bible. This position supports a wide array of event technical needs including audio/visual, lighting, projection, video production, live streaming, and stage management.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with internal and external clients to plan and execute events as well as productions with excellence.
  • Facilitate exceptional communication with Event Coordinators and internal partners such as Facilities and Security.
  • Oversee load-ins, rehearsals, events, shows, and load-outs with excellence, efficiency and safety.
  • Correspond directly with internal and external event clients to ensure sufficient preparation for effective event execution. Maintain safe, clean, and orderly conditions in events as well as back of house spaces.
  • Support the success of client technicians and visiting productions.
  • Collaborate with the Interactive Systems and World Stage technical teams to organize and maintain portable and installed equipment as well as systems used in event spaces. Assist in providing support to each as museum gallery and event needs vary.
  • Stay up-to-speed with advancements in event technology and take advantage of opportunities to grow technical as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Events Technical Manager.
Education
  • High School Diploma; college degree a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience with audio, video, projection, lighting and streaming for events and/or theater production
Qualifications
  • Experience with and working knowledge of the following A/V systems and equipment strongly preferred:
    • Lighting, Simple lighting consoles, basic lighting set up. Setting DMX addresses
    • Audio Mixing consoles: Behringer X32, Yamaha QL series
    • Audio DSP: QSYS or other
    • Recording: Reaper or other, setting proper levels etc.
    • Presentation Software: ProPresenter, Power Point, Keynote
    • Video Switching: Black Magic ATEM switchers
    • A/V distribution/switching: Crestron, QSYS
    • Video Monitor / Display: Novastar, LG LED video panels
    • Video Broadcasting: Facebook, YouTube
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Champion the Museum of the Bible’s mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
  • As required, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.

Work Environment
  • Physical demands/requirements are as follows:
    • Sit for up to 8 hours a day.
    • Squat bending at the knees.
    • Stand for long periods of time.
    • Lift up to 10 lbs. for short periods of time.
