CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Senior API/Python Developer within our Intel sector advancing the national security mission through cutting edge technology. You must demonstrate a passion for keeping pace with rapidly evolving technology advancements and leveraging your expert level Python skills within a highly collaborative team to deliver state of the art capabilities.
The Senior API/Python Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and APIs using Python programming language. This role focuses on backend development, API integration, and may include aspects of advanced cloud based solutions.

This position is located in our Arlington, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable applications and APIs using Python. This includes writing clean, efficient, and well documented code that meets advanced mission requirements.
. API Design and Integration: Design and implement secure RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring efficient communication between mission critical systems and applications. Integrate third party APIs and specialized services as required.
. Database Management: Work with various database systems (e.g., SQL and NoSQL databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL) for sophisticated data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams, to define requirements, integrate components, and ensure seamless, secure functionality.
. Performance Optimization and Security: Optimize code and system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and enforce security best practices in data handling and API authentication for sensitive environments.
. Cloud Integration (Optional): If applicable, implement and integrate cloud services and APIs (e.g., AWS, Azure) for cloud native solutions and deployments.
. Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications and APIs.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree and/or 8 to 10 years of relevant experience
. Security Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly
. Expert level proficiency in Python programming language and associated frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django).
. Strong understanding of API architectural styles (e.g., REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and experience with API development tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger UI).
. Familiarity with database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL).
. Experience with version control systems like Git.
. Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
. Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
. In depth experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $194,000.00.
