EAD is building a high-performance network of senior, field-deployable professionals to support capital project execution in industrial manufacturing environments. This role is a Temporary Full-Time (W-2) position designed for professionals who will be embedded at client sites for the duration of specific project assignments. As an Embedded Project Manager – Project Assignment, you will operate as a trusted extension of both the client and EAD, providing on-site leadership and execution support. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy travel, hands-on project work, and dynamic, project-based assignments where duration is tied to the needs of each engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered under budget, within schedule, within the agreed-to scope and with great customer experience
  • Lead small teams consisting of various engineering disciplines and other project support personnel
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate project documentation in the proper locations
  • Manage client's project expectations and requirements
  • Understand and perform critical path analysis
  • Sign client/firm agreement, if qualified within the limits of EAD signatory policy
  • Maintains understanding of project financial issues
  • Authorizes billing to client
  • Responsible for project reporting including resource utilization and project profitability
  • Accountable for project costs, schedules, performance and safety
  • Responsible for communications, escalations and resolving complex client issues
  • Act as single point of contact to the client, senior-level project managers and company executives
  • Tracking and delivering project metrics
  • Mentoring and coaching team members
  • Report into senior and executive management
  • Lead multiple, large, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Responsible for adhering to all EAD's safety standards and practices
  • Lead preparation of proposals including scope definition, schedule development and budget estimates
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Construction, Civil Engineering, Project Management with ten years of relevant working experience and advanced knowledge in mechanical engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Ten years of experience in project management/execution with an understanding of standard project management processes/procedures
  • Experience leading or supporting projects in active client facility environments, with direct exposure to on-site operations
  • PMP certified
  • High level interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy
  • Ability to manage small to large projects
  • Proficient in executing fast tracked projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Engineering consulting firm experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, while being capable of interacting effectively with plant operations from the maintenance level through and including the executive level
  • Must have a proven track record of accomplishments as a project manager or lead engineer on industrial projects and be capable of supervising and directing a team of engineers, contractors, and vendors
  • Ability to review design drawings and assess a job site for constructability including pre-construction activities, fabrication workflow, material staging, and safety risks
  • Ability to review and manage the implementation of safety and injury reporting procedures
  • Working knowledge of excel including macros
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to develop business opportunities
  • Posses and able to maintain a valid driver's license
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, MS Project required
  • Travel and/or field experience required

Working Conditions:

  • Embedded at a plant, or client site environment*
  • Must be willing to travel as required and work remotely on a client site.
  • Ability to sit and work at computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk up numerous flights of stairs/ladders multiple times a day and/or work in tight spaces in extreme conditions
  • May work near moving mechanical parts and equipment*
  • Office, Commercial and/or Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals*
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.*
