The Project Manager is responsible for design, develop, validate, and implement methods and tools that improve the operational flexibility and execution of a logistics system using appropriate engineering concepts and lean principles. Modify and improve existing logistics systems. Lead teams in the development and implementation of methods for material ordering, communication, transportation, packaging, layout and distribution within a supply chain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Design
  • Analyze customer request for proposal information
  • Prepares and presents regularly scheduled project updates to general manager, project team and clients
  • Drives continuous improvement through the recommendation of new technology
  • Ensures Project Management controls are in place
  • Ensures that the prescribed DSV Project management methodology is adhered to
  • Respond to and resolves project issues and mitigates risk appropriately
  • Works both independently and in teams
  • Align all work streams with an integrated project plan to ensure milestones and critical path tasks are delivered
  • Utilize project management tools to provide a clear and accurate schedule
  • Escalate issues/risks appropriately to leadership
  • Holds vendors accountable to schedule and scope deliverables
  • Participates in solutions (operations design) and proposal/pricing development
  • Perform research, selection and implementation of optimum process improvement solutions designed to maximize efficiencies, quality and customer satisfaction
  • Prepare and deliver new business quotes to insure the utilization of best practice operating procedures
  • Utilize systematic and innovative problem solving techniques
  • Perform slotting analysis to develop optimum storage solution based on product mix and velocity

Process Improvement
  • Review and study existing equipment, facilities, systems and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality and reduce costs.
  • Lead 5S implementation efforts to improve work place organization and improve overall productivity
  • Develop tools in Access such as productivity database, training database to enhance quality and productivity
  • Design and develop standards for metric walls, helping in standardizing reporting format across all sites
  • Lead time study analysis of work areas to improve productivity and process efficiency
  • Aid in developing optimum line side levels to support uninterrupted production while meeting JIT requirements
  • Developing line side delivery schedules to support uninterrupted manufacturing
  • Design and implement supermarkets for uninterrupted supply of pre-assembled returnable kits for manufacturing line side
  • Participate in process improvement projects as designated by management, including becoming a Black Belt for Six Sigma initiatives
  • Keep abreast of supply chain technology and most effective operations deployment methods
  • Cooperate with sites to share similar problems and solutions
  • Lead internal and external auditing efforts to ensure all sites are ISO 9000 compliant

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
  • College Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in related field.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Computer Skills
  • Basic knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (to include Excel, Word, Access, Project, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills
  • Analytical and a solid mathematics foundation is a must.

Other
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Excellent analytical skills, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in 3PL environment - operations, engineering
