Job Description
Help shape how a leading Cards business identifies emerging risk and improves customer outcomes-before charge-off. You'll turn complex collections data into clear, actionable strategy that influences senior decisions and drives measurable performance improvement. Partnering across teams, you'll challenge assumptions, elevate monitoring, and strengthen risk discipline through best-in-class analytics. This is a high-visibility role for a curious, rigorous leader who thrives in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
As a/an Risk Management - Collections Strategy - Vice President in the Collections Pre Charge-off Team (Cards), you will own analytics and risk monitoring that help ensure the business operates within established risk parameters while delivering long-term performance goals.
You'll independently develop insights, diagnose performance trends, and translate findings into practical recommendations for senior leaders and key stakeholders. You'll also lead the development and delivery of MIS and reporting solutions to ensure performance and risk signals are timely, accurate, and decision-ready.
This role offers the opportunity to influence strategy, improve operational performance through root-cause diagnostics, and continuously enhance risk management processes through new tools, methodologies, and external perspective.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive analytics to measure, evaluate, and challenge key collections initiatives and performance outcomes
  • Identify emerging trends and performance shifts using statistical, quantitative, and data-mining methodologies
  • Analyze collections data to deliver diagnostics, insights, and opportunities for strategy and process improvement
  • Conduct root-cause analyses to isolate drivers of performance and quantify impact (e.g., processes, customer behavior, policy, macro factors)
  • Generate clear, actionable recommendations that inform senior leadership decisions and prioritize high-value actions
  • Prepare detailed risk monitoring materials and performance narratives tailored to senior management and stakeholder needs
  • Present findings, insights, and strategic implications to multiple levels of management with clarity and confidence
  • Lead the design, build, and delivery of MIS dashboards and reporting solutions that enable timely risk and performance management
  • Partner across functions to align on definitions, monitoring frameworks, measurement approaches, and implementation plans
  • Monitor internal and external behavioral signals, industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously improve risk management processes
  • Drive continuous learning and adoption of new tools and technologies to enhance analytical rigor, speed, and scalability

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or similar)
  • Minimum 7 years of professional analytics experience supporting business strategy, risk, or performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems and execute end-to-end analyses with strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Proven experience applying statistical, quantitative, and/or data-mining techniques to identify trends and explain performance outcomes
  • Strong ability to translate complex analysis into practical solutions and concise, executive-ready conclusions
  • Experience producing risk/performance monitoring outputs (e.g., recurring reports, scorecards, KPI frameworks, executive summaries)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • Track record of working independently, exercising sound judgment, and delivering results with minimal oversight
  • Strong collaboration skills with ability to influence without authority and align teams around data-driven actions
  • Demonstrated agility in learning and applying new tools and technologies to improve analytical delivery
  • Results orientation with high ownership, accountability, and a commitment to quality and control discipline

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
  • Experience in credit risk and/or collections analytics, especially within Cards, consumer lending, or pre charge-off strategy
  • Expertise in MIS/reporting solution development, including scalable, automated, and trusted executive reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including comfort challenging constructively and driving alignment across teams
  • Experience monitoring external factors (industry, regulatory, macro/consumer signals) and translating them into risk implications
  • Ability to craft executive narratives connecting data, risk appetite, operational realities, and strategic trade-offs
  • Continuous improvement experience, including identifying gaps and implementing sustainable enhancements
  • Comfort in fast-paced environments with changing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and control
