14665 - Senior Power System Studies Engineer (remote) - Juno Beach,FL
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions
Work Setting: remote
Required:
  • Experience with power system analysis tools including PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, TSAT and GE PSLF software.
  • Experience with interconnection procedures as defined by ISO's/Utilities/TOs across U.S.
  • Experience with electrical engineering concepts such as power flow, stability, voltage regulation, reactive support etc.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

Responsibilities:
  • Create and validate PSSE and PSCAD models for transmission line and generation projects.
  • Perform and review steady state, dynamic, short circuit and other power system analyses for transmission lines and renewable facilities.
  • Perform and review transmission line design studies in PSCAD including line energization, switching overvoltage study, shunt reactor sizing, auto reclosing, etc
  • Provide technical expertise to all aspects of interconnection processes and operational requirements.
  • Work closely with ISO's/Utilities/Regulatory agencies to manage interconnection processes for NextEra facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regional modeling requirements for new and existing generation and transmission line projects.
  • Develop software tools that enhance system reliability and organizational efficiency.
