Description:
3rd Shift Pool Operator
12-month hourly employee
Days of Work: Monday - Friday
Times of Shift: 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Job Summary:
  1. Monitor, test, and adjust pool water chemistry.
  2. Maintain accurate chemical and maintenance logs.
  3. Perform routine pool maintenance and backwashing.
  4. Maintain cleanliness of pool and locker areas.
  5. Safely handle and store pool chemicals.
  6. Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds independently. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  7. Report equipment or safety issues.
  8. Assist with custodial and maintenance duties.
  9. Assist with snow removal.
  10. Respond to emergency situations.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  1. Working knowledge of commercial or institutional swimming pool operations.
  2. Knowledge of pool chemical handling and water chemistry.
  3. Ability to follow safety practices and regulations.
  4. Familiarity with health department regulations.
  5. Ability to read chemical labels, SDS sheets, and instructions.
  6. Ability to work independently.
  7. Basic record-keeping skills.
  8. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Working Conditions:
Is under the supervision of the Night Foreman, Building and Grounds Manager, and Third Shift Supervisor
